Robert and Wilma Hartford are extending an invitation to lawmakers and the general public to meet them, tour their home and learn more about how energy efficiency has cut their heating bill in half,  on Saturday, March 24th at 11:00 AM.

The Hartfords were recently featured in a front page news story in the New York Times, putting a face to a real and growing heating crisis in Maine. Governor LePage was invited, but will be out of state.

More than $200,000 donations came in to Hometown Energy within a week of the story being published. Joshua Wojcik, president of Upright Frameworks, and DeWitt Kimball of Complete Home Evaluation Services, however, went to the home directly, performed an energy audit and then proceeded to button up the home once and for all, cutting their oil consumption in half permanently.

Donations will be accepted to aid efficiency projects for LIHEAP-eligible families in the region.

Hosts for the event include:

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hartford
Hometown Energy
DeWitt Kimball, Energy Auditor
Joshua Wojcik, Upright Frameworks
