"Lack of transportation choices traps people in their cars and pollutes the environment", according to the Sierra Club of Maine. Rail transportation is one important choice we should be providing to more Maine locations, according to their position paper on transportation.

With such a large percentage of Mainer’s energy dollars being spent on transportation, we stand to save the most money by figuring out where we can modify our transportation habits to conserve on fuel or change fuels altogether.
