Maine's Conversation About Wind Power

Wind power holds the potential to play a large role in shifting Maine's energy economy from a net export of dollars for oil to a net export of energy for dollars. Such a major shift deserves a lot of discussion and we invite Mainers with all points of view to have their say here. What have your experiences been with wind power? What is your opinion, and what facts can you share with us to support it?

The 3rd Annual New England Marine Renewable Energy Center’s Technical Conference will take place on November 7-8, 2011 in Cambridge. MA.

Monday sessions will address environmental considerations and challenges expected in bringing ocean energy devices on line. The afternoon sessions will cover how to harness and sustain effective tidal energy.

On October 27, 2011, a coalition of organizations, businesses and individuals announced a new citizens initiative to increase clean energy in Maine in order to increase energy independence, create jobs, control energy costs and cut pollution. The coalition has established a new group, Maine Citizens for Clean Energy, which is beginning to gather signatures for the November 2012 ballot.

The Maine Science Teachers Association (MSTA) welcomes Dr. Habib Dagher as the keynote speaker at its annual conference on October 7, 2011.
