Maine's Conversation About Wind Power

Wind power holds the potential to play a large role in shifting Maine's energy economy from a net export of dollars for oil to a net export of energy for dollars. Such a major shift deserves a lot of discussion and we invite Mainers with all points of view to have their say here. What have your experiences been with wind power? On January 24, 2012, the Bangor Daily News reported that the landowners in Frankfort who proposed to build a 10-megawatt wind power plant on Mt. Waldo are suing the town in Waldo County Superior Court. The town passed a controversial ordinance placing a moratorium on wind power development in a vote of 244 to 222 on Dec. 1, 2011.
